History of Bullfighters Only

Since its inception, Bullfighters Only (BFO) has evolved into a platform that serves to entertain both the western community, and present the sport to an entirely new audience. BFO’s spectacle has been witnessed by millions of fans, performing everywhere from Cowboys Stadium in Dallas to the world famous Las Vegas Strip. The resurgence of freestyle bullfighting can be directly attributed to the company’s commitment to growing the sport, having paid out over $2.5 million in prize money since 2016.

2014

BFO Launched

BullfightersOnly.com is launched as the first online supplier of bullfighting gear and creator of bullfighting related content.

2015

BFO Session

In mid-September, the world’s top bullfighters united in Evan Allard’s hayfield in Oklahoma with the Hooey film crew for a bullfighting session that will change the sport forever.

2015

Bullfighters Only Las Vegas Championship

The first event, the Bullfighters Only Las Vegas Championship is held at the Las Vegas Convention Center during the NFR in December. Chuck Swisher walks away with $10,000 cash and the first BFO title belt.

2016

The Pioneer Project

Freestyle Bullfighting takes off, appearing at the nations biggest festivals, rodeos and bull riding events. The sport’s top 15 bullfighters sign exclusive contracts with BFO in exchange for equity in the company.

Hard Rock Casino Plays Host to BFO

The BFO Championship moves from the Las Vegas Convention Center to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Prize money and exposure reach unprecedented levels. 

2017

Development Camps Begin

With the goal of discovering new talent, the first series of BFO Development Camps are launched with events in California, Texas and Missouri.

2017

Tuckness Sets World Record

On May 20, 2017, Dusty Tuckness slays the legendary BFO World Champion Bull “Spitfire” for 94.5 points at the BFO Lewiston Flexfit Invitational.

2018

Moving to the Tropicana

Due to its exponential growth, the BFO Championship moves to a stand-alone tent at Tropicana Hotel & Casino. Prize money exceeds $100,000 for the first time. 

2019

North Faces His 1,000th Bull

During the BFO’s year-end championship in Las Vegas, Andy North takes part in his 1,000th BFO bullfight, a milestone that may never be matched. 

2020

BFO Championship: Texas Edition

With the pandemic in full-swing, the Bullfighters Only Championship is uprooted along with the NFR and moved to Fort Worth, Texas.

BFO Championship x Resorts World

Fans flock to Resorts World Las Vegas to witness BFO athletes vie for over $100,000 in prize money and the the Freestyle Bullfighting World Championship.

2024

International Development Pays Off

As BFO continues to innovate, the next wave of Freestyle athletes are eyeing for their chance at glory. From Spain to Mexico, Canada to Brazil; BFO’s influence continues to blossom around the world.

2025

BFO Championship Downtown

BFO’s signature event took center stage in Downtown Las Vegas, as fans flocked to the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center (DLVEC) to cheer on the top 12 bullfighters as they competed for over $175k in prize money. Chance Moorman claimed his first BFO world title.

First Spanish Champion

Daniel Alcala “Chikitin” stunned the competition, posting three 90+ point fights on his way to becoming the first athlete from Spain to win the BFO Las Vegas Championship, or any major BFO event for that matter.

BFO Worldwide

Bullfighters Only is set to host events in five different countries in 2026; USA, Canada, Mexico, Spain and France.

Downtown Legacy Grows

Building on a successful move to downtown Las Vegas, BFO’s top bullfighters will takeover DTLV once again during NFR 2026.
