ELITE ROSTER OF BULLFIGHTERS SET FOR SAN ANTONIO
SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Bullfighters Only (BFO), the world’s leading freestyle bullfighting organization, will bring high-octane action to the final day of the 2026 San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo with its Freestyle Fiesta on Sunday, March 1, at the historic Freeman Coliseum. The free event, included with grounds admission, is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m. and serves as the thrilling cap to the 18-day rodeo run from February 12 through March 1.
Chance Moorman won the Freestyle Fiesta last year, and eventually secured his first BFO world title in December during the 2025 BFO World Championships in Las Vegas. His championship run, combined with standout performances from new competitors like Daniel Alcala and Cole Pfister, fuels rivalries as the field battles Spanish fighting bulls in one of the tour’s most anticipated events. BFO World Champions Weston Rutkowski and Tyler Mansell can not be counted out as they look to assert their dominance over the field.
“It doesn’t get any better than competing against the best guys, in front of my hometown crowd in San Antonio,” said Moorman. “Last year I had to battle hard to win this event, and I don’t expect any less this time around.”
The updated format pits 12 elite bullfighters in three preliminary rounds of four athletes each. The winner of each round advances straight to the championship short round. A wildcard berth goes to the bullfighter with the next-highest overall score who did not win their preliminary round, ensuring the top performances earn advancement.
The stacked lineup features:
- Chance Moorman (Reigning BFO World Champion)
- Weston Rutkowski (4x BFO World Champion)
- Tyler Mansell (BFO World Champion)
- Daniel Alcala (BFO Las Vegas Champion)
- Cole Pfister
- Cauy Kraut
- Tucker Lane
- Clay Moore
- Jacory Golden
- Brody Brogan
- Cy Ferguson
- Robert Renteria
“BFO’s Freestyle Fiesta is the perfect way to send off the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo,” said Joey Austin of Bullfighters Only. “Everyone is fresh from the world championships in Las Vegas, and the athletes should be firing on all cylinders.”
Freestyle bullfighting pits one man against a Spanish fighting bull for 60-second. The bouts are scored on style, control and aggression of the athlete while dodging and jumping over the bull.
The Freestyle Fiesta inside of Freeman Coliseum is free with San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo grounds admission. For more details, visit sarodeo.com or bullfightersonly.com.
BFO was founded by bullfighters and is Freestyle Bullfighting’s Premier Professional League. BFO features an international roster of elite athletes competing against the most treacherous fighting bulls for the largest purses in the history of the sport.
