MOORMAN WINS BFO AGUASCALIENTES AS MEXICAN TALENT SHINES AT PLAZA MONUMENTAL

AGUASCALIENTES, Mexico — In front of a near-capacity crowd at the massive Plaza Monumental, reigning world champion Chance Moorman delivered a strong performance to win BFO Aguascalientes, marking a successful debut for Bullfighters Only in Mexico.

Moorman led the field with an 87.5-point ride in Round 1 and backed it up with an 87 in the Hooey Championship Round to secure the victory.

Mexico’s Cesar Garcia finished second, earning a spot in the championship round after an 86-point performance in the opening round before posting an 83 in the final.

The event showcased a strong showing from Mexican athletes, particularly those who advanced through the BFO Development Camp held earlier in the week in Aguascalientes.

Garcia, Manuel Macias, and Carlos Rivera all earned their way into the competition through the camp and carried that momentum into the arena, placing among the top performers against an international field.

Macias posted an 85.5, while Rivera added an 85, both demonstrating the technique and confidence developed during the week of training with BFO’s top atheletes.

Four-time world champion Weston Rutkowski finished close behind with an 84.5, followed by Spain’s Daniel “Chikitín” Alcalá (80). Cole Pfister (75) and Robert Renteria (70) rounded out the field.

The event marked BFO’s first full-scale competition in Mexico and drew one of the largest crowds of the season, with fans filling much of Plaza Monumental during the Feria de San Marcos celebration.

For Moorman, the win adds another international title to his resume. For the sport, the night signaled something bigger — the continued rise of freestyle bullfighting on a global stage, with Mexico quickly emerging as a key part of that future.
